Analog Value Package

This is the best value vinyl playback rig I've ever experienced! There are some wonderful combinations of gear out there.  I challenge anyone to beat this one.  Folks are floored at what they hear.  Please note that, along with the package below, there are still significant upgrades to be had, which I'm not requiring; merely offering as what I'll call "Relevant Reach" product add-ons.  They're a bit of a reach financially, but SO WORTH IT sonically that I'm including them as separate items for this Analog Value Package (AVP); listing them in our products section as "AVP Relevante Reach #1," "AVP Relevant Reach #2, and so on.  Enjoy!

1. ProJect RM-5 Turntable - the most incredible value in turntables I've ever seen!  DEAD platter with cork platter mat, DEAD plinth, easy-to-level three-footer system, outstanding carbon fiber tonearm with excellent bearings, and a removeable-for-upgrade RCA-to-RCA cable from a junction box in back. SWEET!
2. Benz-Micro MC20E2L low output phono cartridge.  This entry-level cartridge from Benz-Micro has turned heads since it arrived a year or so ago!  Wonderful sonics with an uncanny realism that you just don’t hear too often at this price point!
3. ProJect Phono Box SE II.  This recently-upgraded version of the classic Phono Box SE is a quiet, dynamic, musical, and conveniently adjustable phono stage which mates well with virually any phono cartridge you could throw at it….but it SINGS with the Benz-Micro cartridges we offer on this table/arm combo!
4. TARA Labs RSC Prime Gen2 interconnect, 1m, for phono stage to your preamp, integrated amp, or receiver.  This is the most neutral, musical, resolving interconnect we've ever had in our shop for its price.  Simply a ridiculous value, the RSC Prime Gen2 interconnect shares many design attributes common to its MUCH more expensive RSC family of cables, yet costs a fraction of their price.  Worth every penny!

Relevant Reach Products -- please note that, where applicable, the price mentioned for these is the NET price, that is, the difference in prices between the piece in the above package and its higher-performance big brother. In AVP RR2, for example, the net price increase when you upgrade from the MC20E2L ($250) to MC Silver or Gold ($375.) is $125.00.

1.      AVP Relevant Reach #1 - Add another TARA Labs RSC Prime Gen2 interconnect, 1.5m, to go from the back of the table to the phono stage.  This is the cable carrying the most delicate signal in your entire audio chain, and its significance CAN NOT BE OVERSTATED.  Just do it as soon as finances are available! (add $150)

2.      AVP Relevant Reach #2 - Add two Walker Audio 1/2 Resonance Control Discs to the plate holding the tonearm, and you'll instantly hear the bass improvement, added sweetness up top, and overall refinement!  (add $84)

3.      AVP Relevant Reach #3 - Upgrade to one of the MC20E2L's big brothers, the MC Silver (high output MC) or MC Gold (low output MC)!  Same wonderful Benz-Micro tonal balance, with added low-level detail, expanded dynamic range, and an overall sonic improvement that's SO WORTH IT. (add $125 to upgrade cartridge)

4. AVP Relevant Reach #4 - Take the above package to its final destination by upgrading to the ProJect Tube Box SE II!  Tube liquidity, tube sweetness, tube agility, and the ability to roll tubes in your phono stage, the most dramatic voltage-jumper in your system.  Remember that your phono stage is taking signals in the MILLIONTHS of volts and stepping them up to line-level 2v or so!  NOT TO BE OVERSTATED in importance.  When you can afford to make this reach, just do it!  If you can do it now, it'll only add another $300. to the package!  HAVE FUN!
