Subs are tricky, and among the most misunderstood components in an audio system.  Properly dialed in you don't even know they're there.  Usually, though, most subs are poorly designed, and are set to do one thing.  THUMP.  At SMA, we're about the MUSIC not the thump.  Thump is fun, but what's MAKING THE THUMP? A drum?  A keyboard? A bass guitar?  CAN YOU TELL?  Is it playing a NOTE or just pumping out a beat?  The difference is IMPORTANT.

Is the bass signal IN THE WAY or is it INTEGRATED INTO THE MUSIC? 

Our subs SING, and sing IN HARMONY with the music.  If your sub's not doing that, WHY DO YOU HAVE IT?  Remember that LOUDER is fun but LOUD AND CLEAR is BETTER.
