Thorp Audio Group Classic cones
Austin audio tweak Ralph Thorp is a master machinist used to working with portions of assemblies of artificial heartvalves. This product was easy, right? Not so fast. MONTHS of tweaking every dimension of this product, as well as being acutely aware of the possibilities inherent in the materials used in the first place, lead Thorp to bring these unique cones to us. This guy REALLY cares, spending months tweaking his own system; gaining depth of knowledge in the areas of electrical power delivery from AC power down to line level cabling. and Just part of an aresenal of products we're using to dial in systems for clients who care at this level. Want that last bit of performance from your CD transport, DAC, preamp, amplifier, speakers, or subwoofer? We might just have a toy or two to help you take whatever you're riding as far as it will take you. These cones are one very good one! Specifically, these "Classic" cones were the final version of Ralph's cones, taking all of our systems to new levels of performance on every level -- improved tonality, dynamic contrast, and dimensionality. Then Ralph realized a way to relax things a bit and smooth out some rough edges that remained...bringing us the TAG-1 cones "finally final...until the next idea..final." Ralph's never giving up! OK, so now you have two ways to go....Classics for a cleaner, clearer, more articulate sound, and TAG-1 cones for incredible resolution with a touch of sweetness that might previously have been considered impossible to maintain. Picture shows TAG1, not classic cones....Classics have sharper edges, and no curves to them, per se. |
